The Gospel
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Mankind walked peacefully with God in a beautiful garden. They were right with Him.
However mankind has chosen to rebel against Him, against their own Maker and did what was right in their own eyes. Death, disease and sorrow entered mankind's lives.
Mankind continued in his stubborness and built great cities in defiance of God.
God found a man (Abraham) who desired God, through him and his descendants God revealed to mankind His own character. God's prophets prophesied of the great things that God was going to do for mankind.
As prophesied by the prophets of old a Messiah was born in Bethlehem...the Son of God (Jesus Christ).
This Son of God walked through the land of God (Israel), He healed the sick and comforted the broken hearted. There were many wonders He did,
But ultimately after proving who He was, God sent Him to pay the price for mankind's sin and rebellion. God showed us unconditional love and gave us a second chance. He is more than fair...He is merciful.
After three days in the grave the Son of God rose from the dead and conquered the curse of death for us all!
And now those who follow after him, meaning... those who have faith (trust) in the Son of God for the remission of sins, those who repent (turn from their old ways), those who go on to be baptised (sins washed away with water) and then those who openly recieve the gift of God's Holy Spirit to live in us. He is making us new people!
God sent His Holy Spirit to be with us even through the toughest times.
We look now for Christ's coming as prophesied by Himself and the prophets of old. One day we shall have a just and good Ruler.
Then we shall know God and be with Him forever more in the place He has prepared for those who follow after Him.
